How To Add A Touch Of Personality To Your Bathroom
Out of all the rooms in your house, you probably find that the bathroom is the one space that lets you down. It doesn’t reflect any of your personality, and it’s hard to design it to be as free flowing and fun as the living room or your bedroom.
It’s the bathroom, which of course means it needs to be more functional than it is aesthetic, but many people can lose a key sense of comfort when it comes to creating a bathroom space that suits them.
And that’s something we’re keen to help you fix; if your bathroom is missing some character, here’s how to add it back in.
Lay Tiles in a Pattern
Whatever tiling you have in your bathroom right now, go in there when you’ve got a spare day and pull off every 2nd tile. Then, head to your local DIY store to pick up some new tiles that have a complementary color to them. If your current tiles are white, for example, the new tiles you pick up should be blue or pink.
Head back to your home once you’ve got these tiles, and lay the new ones in the open spaces. Make sure you seal off the grouting properly, and then once the job is over, step back and admire the much more colorful pattern you’ve set up!
Screen Print Your Shower Glass
You can pull out the old shower, replace it with a free standing variety that you can just screw into the wall and connect up to the plumbing, and then invest in some screen printed glass to form the enclosure around it.
When you have screen printed glass, you can put any design you like into the layers and create a pattern or picture you’d really like to see in there.
Perhaps an ocean of sea creatures? Or maybe some seashells and waves to remind you of how much you love the beach? You can also partly frost the glass as well, to ensure proper privacy whenever you’re in there.
Place Some Plants
Plants in a bathroom are great for adding some character, as they’re literal living and breathing organisms you can marvel at while you’re using the space.
Indeed, if you place some hanging plants as well as potted ones, you can even get into the bath or shower and feel like you’re bathing in the middle of the jungle!
Make sure the plants are suitable for the space. This usually means only placing species that are OK with excess moisture and heat, and sometimes you’ll need to find low or no light suitable varieties as well.
