Week 1 Guest Room Refresh

Week 1 Guest Room Refresh

Disclosure: this post is sponsored by AllModern, but all selections and opinions are my own

Alright, one week down and hopefully one more to go, alright lets be real it will be a month. With two crazy kids and a husband working from home in this room, it is hard to get anything done, but we will get there! I wanted to show you guys where I started with the mood board and a very scary before picture. Then I will link all of the products I have put in so far.

The first thing we did was de clutter and organize all the stuff that I had piled up in here over the past two months. It had turned into our storage bin at home…yikes! We then gave away our furniture that we didn’t want to families that needed it. So we had started with a blank slate woo hoo! I wanted to work with things that we already had as much as we could to save a little money. You know I love to do as much as I can on my own with DIY or re purposing furniture we already had. However, in some cases I needed some new items, so I worked with companies that I absolutely love and know you will too!

I wanted to revamp these closet doors with a barn yard door look without spending a fortune, I loved the results. You can get the full tutorial here. (Coming this week)

Next, we got a new bed from AllModern, and I love the look of it! It is the perfect shade of wood for this room, not too dark, not too light, just right. We got the Zain Queen Platform Bed.

We wanted to go with more neutral bedding, to make the room feel light and airy, so we found this really affordable bedding on Amazon. I also loved the tassels on the end for added texture. If you don’t have a queen size duvet you will need to purchase that as well, we got ours on Amazon as well. The pillows were all pillows I already had, so I just re used them so I could save a little money.

Then we added the desk, I LOVE the look of the sleek modern design from TipToe. It was so easy to assemble and so well made! We ordered the MONOCHROME desk in white.

The desk chair was also something we already had in storage, it is from Target, so we saved a little money there as well. The chair is the Safavieh set of 2 and is currently on sale. We also already had this rug from Boutique Rugs, so we moved it up here and I love the texture that it brings to a room. The rug is the Glastonbury Area Rug in a 8x10.

Finally, I had to replace our old fan. This one was a great deal at Home Depot. It is the Mewry 52’ Matte Black Fan, and it is a great price.

That is all for this week. The goal for week 2 is to add trim around the window, get a window shade and hopefully work on the accent wall, stay tuned!

Cheers!

Janelle
